Beatus of Liébana was an influential Spanish Christian in the eighth century. His major contributions fall into two categories. The first is his writing against the Adoptionist controversy, which was a major force in Spain after the Muslim conquest. His other important work is the Commentary on the Apocalypse, in which he compiles all of the most influential exegeses on the Apocalypse into one work.
