The Medieval Digital Resources database was designed in 2014 – 2016 by Maryanne Kowaleski, and created and coded by Morgan Kay of WP Alchemists, with assistance by Lisa Bitel, chair (2014 – 2016) of the MAA Digital Initiatives Advisory Board (DIAB), and Lisa Fagin Davis, Executive Director of the Medieval Academy. Crucial input and advice was offered by other members of DIAB (2013 – 2017): James Ginther, Todd Chavez, Scott Kleinman, and Tim Stinson. Thanks also go to Richard Unger, past president of the Medieval Academy, and to the MAA Executive Committee for their support.

The initial MDR Peer Review process was spearheaded by Lisa Bitel, Maryanne Kowaleski, and the Digital Initiatives Advisory Board. We also thank the scholars who have served as MDR peer reviewers, as noted on the Cataloguers and Reviewers page. Ongoing recommendation, vetting, and review of potential MDR sites is provided by the MAA’s Speculum Review Editorial Board and the Digital Humanities and Multimedia Studies Committee.
