Treasurer of Carlos III of Navarre and member of a powerful family. Author of the Crónica de los Reyes de Navarra, added as prologue to his first book of accounts in 1404. The Crónica marks an important threshold in the historiography of the kingdom (previously there were only annals and genealogies) and shows a particular critical and moral force of argument. Passages of contemporary interest are included, some of which cite previously ignored rebels. The Crónica is thus the first of the great medieval Navarrese chronicles.
