Sir Thomas Malory is the English author of Morte d’Arthur, written in the mid-fifteenth century. Although there are several possibilities for his identity, he was most likely a knight from Newbold Revell, Warwickshire. Malory seems to have spent a lot of time in prison, where he wrote Morte d’Arthur based on French romances of Arthurian legend. William Caxton printed it in 1481. TLM
