Sturla Þórðarson was a chieftain and writer in thirteenth-century Iceland. He also served as lawspeaker there from 1251 to 1252. The works written by Sturla include Íslendinga saga, Hákonar saga Hákonarsonar, Magnúss saga lagabœtis, Þverárvísur and Þorgilsdrápa.
He was also the nephew of Snorri Sturluson, brother to Óláfr hvítaskáld Þórðarson, and court skald, or poet, of the Swedish ruler Birger Jarl. TLM
