This early Irish saint, according to Bede, was instrumental in the Irish church adopting the Roman dating for Easter, and promulgated a law code bearing his name or known as the Law of Innocents protecting women and children in war. However, he is best known for his literary work, which included a Life of St Columba and a treatise on holy sites in the Middle East. For more information, see:
