Antonius de Rosellis was one of the most highly regarded lay jurists of fifteenth-century Italy. Educated at Bologna in canon and civil law, Antonius wrote a number of consilia or legal opinions on disputed points of law, consulted on legal matters for popes and kings, and taught at the University of Padua for almost 40 years.
