Bar Hebraeus, sometimes "Gregory" or "Gregorius" Bar Hebraeus (1226-1286) was a bishop, physician, theologian, poet, grammarian, and Biblical commentator. Born at Meletine, he studied in Antioch and Tripoli, and became bishop of Gubos, Lacabene, and Aleppo. He died at Maragha (Persia).
