Thomas Bradwardine was an English scholar, scientist, and courtier. He is often called Doctor Profundus, or “Profound Doctor,†for his celebrated work as a scholastic philosopher and doctor of theology. His theories on insolubles, or paradoxical statements, have had continued influence even into the modern era.
