William Dunbar was a Scottish poet born c. 1460. He graduated from St. Andrew’s University and traveled through England and France as a wandering friar. He returned to Scotland around 1490 and entered the service of James IV. One hundred and one poems have been attributed to Dunbar, most of which are occasional, allegorial and satirical poems. TLM
