Henry, either a German or Lettish priest educated in Germany came to Livonia circa 1205 to join the household of Bishop Albert of Riga as a scholar. He was ordained in 1208 and sent to Imera to assist in the conversion of the Letts. He built a church at Papendorp, and likely remained there for the rest of his life.
