Jocelin of Brakelond was a twelfth-century English monk and chronicler of Bury St. Edmund’s. He entered the abbey in 1173 and was appointed by Abbot Sampson as chaplain, which he served from 1182 to 1188. His chronicle covers the history of the abbey from 1173 to 1202. He also wrote a hagiography of St. Robert of Bury that is not extant. TLM
