Little is known about John Mirk except from his own works. He served as Augustinian canon of Lilleshall Abbey and pastor at Saint Alkmund’s Church in Shrewsbury. He wrote instructional works for parish priests: The Festial (his most well-known work), Instructions for Parish Priests, and Manuale sacerdotis. TLM
