Master General of the Dominican Order from 1285-1291. Many scholars have attributed the formal, penitent rule, which was approved by Pope Innocent VII in 1405. He also served as Bishop of Palencia briefly before retiring to the Monastery of Santa Sabina. He was a major supporter and propogator of the Dominican Third Order and lay penitents.
