Peter of Blois was a French diplomat and poet. After studying law in Bologna and Theology in Paris, he held a variety of posts in his lifetime including Latin secretary to Henry II and, later, Eleanor of Aquitaine, and Archdeacon of both Bath and London. His writings include Latin poems, letters, various treatises and histories. JPR
