An Anglo-Norman poet, Pierre d’Abernun was part of the Abernon family, who owned considerable property in Surrey and Cambridgeshire. He translated from Latin the Secret of Secrets. He then wrote La Lumière des laïques ("The Light of the laity"), a kind of theological treatise translated into Latin from a book written by Pierre de Fécamp.
