Project Status: Ongoing
A collection of Latin chant inventories from medieval and early modern antiphoners, breviaries, and other liturgical sources. The collection may be browsed (by manuscript, feast, or incipit) or searched, and also offers an analytical tool to compare chants for a particular feast in all of CANTUS’ indexed manuscripts (138 as of January 2016). Each item includes a description of contents, and some include links to images of the manuscript page. This resource is affiliated with University of Waterloo’s MARGOT project on medieval and early modern French culture.
